To get the email going, I have to configure the SMTP server.
From the Evolution Menu, select > Edit > Preferences
If there is no Default Profile there yet, Add the profile or highlight the one you need to change and click Edit. Then follow the tabs.

Under the Identity tab, enter the Account Name, your Full Name and Email Address.

Under the Receiving Email tab, I leave the option as None ... for now.

The one for the SMTP server setup is under the 'Sending Email' tab.

Under Server Type, you have two options, SMTP and Sendmail. If you don't have an SMTP server available to connect to, use Sendmail. Sendmail is like having your own SMTP server on the laptop. I don't recommend this option because many Service Provider simply block these type of connections.
And since I connect to my own SMTP server, I have to provide some Authentication. It's a simple Login with an ID and password.
